Halley D. Roache isn’t a bestselling author, Pulitzer Prize Winner or even someone who’s actually written a book. But she is working on several books—some about magic, murder and monsters and others about a girl and a ghost. In the process she’s learned a lot about anything and everything related to writing. Sometimes pretty technical things like Scene Structure, and sometimes not-so-technical-things like How to Bake a Villain.

So that’s why she’s here, to blog about everything she’s learned. And when she’s not doing that, she really loves making lists.

• she has a BAA in Animation from Sheridan College
• she’s worked as a marketing and design consultant, a marketing and design intern, a bank teller and a movie theater CSR
• her favorite words are whimsical & cattywampus
• she occasionally turns into a bat at night
• she currently resides in Canada, where she illustrates children’s books
